The Respite Program arranges for dependent individuals, who require 24-hour care, to be admitted to a personal care home in order to provide a planned period of relief to families.
Respite is available for varied lengths of time, with the normal stay being two weeks. Home Care Coordinators can assist families and individuals in accessing the Respite Program. Each respite client pays a standard subsidized daily fee.

The Manitoba Home Care Program is the oldest comprehensive, province-wide, universal home care program in Canada. Home Care is provided to Manitobans of all ages based on assessed need and taking into account other resources available to the individual including families, community resources and other programs.

The WRHA provides community health care services to support independent living, develop appropriate care options with clients and/or family and facilitate admission into long term care facilities when living in the community is no longer possible.  Some of the Home Care Program services include nursing care, personal care, household assistance, respite care and much more.  For more information call or go to their website.
