Ottawa Hospital - Regional Geriatric Program of Eastern Ontario

The program is a coordinated network of specialized assessment, treatment and rehabilitation services for elderly persons whose well being, independence, or functional ability is threatened by multiple health or social problems. It is hosted by the Ottawa Hospital and is a product of the combined efforts of many hospital and community partners. Referrals are accepted from health professionals, prospective clients, or caregivers, however family physicians must be contacted before a referral will be accepted.

Offers assessment and active treatment of patients aged 65 and over who are experiencing mental health problems. The program has a range of psychiatric services including an outpatient clinic, day hospital (45 rooms), inpatient unit (26 beds), a consultative outreach service to most long-term care facilities. Services are provided by a multidisciplinary team. Requires written referral by physician. Contact Geriatric Psychiatry Intake Secretary.

Provides a range of community supports from health, social, education programs to those who have recovered or are in the process of recovering after a stroke.
