OCTC School - Provides an educational-therapeutic placement for kindergarten and primary-aged children with a primary diagnosis of a physical disability (neuro-motor) and associated complex communication, developmental, and/or learning disabilities.
Liaison Teachers - Provide services to children with a primary diagnosis of a physical disability (neuro-motor) and associated learning and developmental disabilities. These services assist board personnel and parents/caregivers with the placement, acceptance, and integration of students into a community school.

The Ontario Ministry of Education Special education programs and services mainly consist of instruction and assessments that are different from those provided to the typical student population. These may take the form of accommodations (such as specific teaching strategies, preferential seating, and assistive technology) and/or an educational program that is modified.

Regroups day centres that provide education to students placed in a day treatment establishment. The school board in partnership, with the therapeutic establishment believes that the behavior and the special need of some student require a more intensive help then the one offered in the regular school. "L’école Le Transit" serves the francophone community of both the public and catholic school board.

This program is mandated to assist francophone students in need of assistance in the Ottawa region who regularly abandon school prior to obtaining their high-school studies diploma for one of the following reasons: slight adaptation difficulties in school, socially, or emotionally, a desire to continue studies in an environment other than the one provided in regular schools or a desire to obtain the few necessary credits to obtain a diploma without having to register for a full semester in a regular high-school.  Offers services in orientation, special education, psychology, social work and after school activities that are organized to favour the student’s social integration.

Children with health needs that impact their ability to learn at school may be eligible for CCAC services. These services may include, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy , Speech Therapy, Nursing. If your child is eligible, your CCAC Case Manager can arrange for you to receive these services.

The Roberts Smart Centre has a private school for children with special needs. Debbie Campbell Learning Academy: Private School under the provincial Education Act providing specialized learning and behavioural intervention programs for adolescents with severe behaviour problems. Students may earn a variety of Ontario Secondary School credits at the grade nine and ten level. Remedial programs are also offered for adolescents who are functioning at the elementary level. This program is available in English only.
