The Member Assistance Program (MAP) is a voluntary and confidential service for Canadian Forces (CF) to help members (Regular Force, all Reserve Class Members, Cadets) and family members. MAP provides a short-term problem solving service for persons who have parenting or family concerns, interpersonal relations, personal and emotional, stress, anxiety, sexual assault and addiction concerns.

Pacific Centre Family Services Association offers a variety of counselling and support programs such as email youth counseling, face to face counseling for youth, counselling for families, and a sexual abuse intervention program. The Victoria Hospice offers a variety of bereavement support groups. Some groups run for a fixed number of weeks, while others use a drop-in format. Some groups are facilitated by counsellors, others by volunteers, and still others by both.

Child and Youth Mental is a service offered in British Columbia through the Ministry of Children and Family Development. Child and Youth Mental Health provide assessment and a wide range of community-based specialized mental health services. Some of the mental disorders that are treated include; anxiety disorder, conduct disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, any depressive disorder, substance abuse, pervasive developmental disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, schizophrenia, Tourette's disorder, bipolor disorder and any eating disorder. Project Alive provides urgent assessment and support for youth, under the age of 19, at high risk for suicide. This service is confidential and parents will only be involved with youth's permission. Project Alive workers can respond to youth within 3 - 5 days. Operates Mon.- Fri. 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.

The Welcome Home Program aims to help individuals who are living with an Autism Spectrum Disorder or Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FASD) to help them live as independently as possible while having access to available support. The individual can choose to either live within a family home or a suite within the home. Caregivers can help individuals in a variety of ways to help their personal growth which include health care, community involvement and goal setting.

This program is available to indivduals who have been diagnosed within the Autism Spectrum Disorders or FASD and matches Support Workers with individuals to provide one on one outreach and community inclusion services. Services and support include: life skills, financial management assistance, shopping assistance, transportation services, personal aid and much more. This program is available to individuals in Sooke region and the Greater Victoria area.

The Victoria Youth Clinic is a free, non-profit, confidential health care service available for youth from ages 12 to 24. With two locations available and a doctor, clinical nurse, counsellor, psychiatrist, outreach worker and managing staff, they provide a variety of health services for youth as well as support with health concerns such as mental health, counselling, addictions, assistance in obtaining a care card, referrals to specialists, vaccinations and much more.
Please note: You do not need a care card to receive these services but they can help you obtain one if you need assistance.
