The Member Assistance Program (MAP) is a voluntary and confidential service for Canadian Forces (CF) to help members (Regular Force, all Reserve Class Members, Cadets) and family members. MAP provides a short-term problem solving service for persons who have parenting or family concerns, interpersonal relations, personal and emotional, stress, anxiety, sexual assault and addiction concerns.

The Prevention and Intervention Program is a confidential free service which offers supportive counselling, liaison as well as advocacy services to Military Family members. You may access the service by telephone at 570-4529 or in person at the MFRC.

Waypoints Family Support Program offers a collaborative and holistic approach for providing in-home support to families. Youth care workers engage with families in their life space through the development of therapeutic relationships and the use of hands-on interventions and activities. A major emphasis is placed on goal setting, strength identification, the promotion of competency, and capacity building.

Our services range from early intervention to long-term therapy, from crisis response to support services, from adolescents to seniors. Clients include people in acute psychotic episodes; those with addictions and abuse issues; people with developmental disabilities; forensic clients; geriatric residents; and people trying to live and work each day with mental illness. Our interdisciplinary teams can be found on inpatient units, at outpatient clinics, and involved in numerous support groups, training sessions, life skills programs and work settings.

Our main focus is to provide young people with adequate, stable, and age-appropriate support systems during a transition period in their lives. Part of helping youth move to more stable, healthy living situations is helping to walk youth through issues and activities that are difficult for any person to maneuver
