Member Assistance Program 


The Member Assistance Program (MAP) is a voluntary and confidential service for Canadian Forces (CF) to help members (Regular Force, all Reserve Class Members, Cadets) and family members.  MAP provides a short-term problem solving service for persons who have parenting or family concerns, interpersonal relations, personal and emotional, stress, anxiety, sexual assault and addiction concerns.

The Child and Parent Resource Institute (CPRI) provides services to children and youth with complex mental health and/or developmental challenges.
The Institute serves children, youth and families on a short term residential and community basis. The services provided are highly specialized and include assessment, consultation, treatment, research and education. Also provided are programs and clinics for children, youth,  families and caregivers.

Psychological Services provides assessment of the child’s learning, behavioral, social and emotional status.  Also provided are referrals for further assessment and therapy if needed.

The Ontario government provides and funds many special programs and services to help these children and their families. The programs and services include respite care, autism services, developmental delay services, disability services, mental health services, rehabilitiation and special services at home. The Infant Development Program is available to families with children (birth to 6 years) who may be at risk for problems affecting mental and/or physical growth.  Through formal and informal developmental assessments the Infant Development Worker will assist the family in understanding their child’s unique pattern of development.
