The Esquimalt MFRC Navigator program supports families dealing with an aging parent, adult or child with special needs by providing the following services;  develop a caregiving plan for their aging parent, child or spouse with special needs, find resources in the local community, explore funding options that are available in the local community for services and provide networking opportunities for families.

The Citizen's Counselling Centre provides individuals, couples or groups.  The counsellors are trained to deal with life issues such as; relationship/communication, changes in status or roles (grieving/loss, divorce, marriage, career changes), situational depression, conflict resolution, stress and anxiety management, anger, and self esteem and assertiveness.

The Member Assistance Program is a voluntary and confidential service, initiated by the Canadian Forces (CF) to help members (Regular Force, all Reserve Class Members, Cadets) and family members who have personal concerns that affect their personal well-being and/or work performance.

BCPA provides a list of practicing psychologist in British Columbia.  A Psychologist can assess and find solutions to problems and challenges that people face in their life.  Are you dealing with anxiety, depression, eating disorder, phobia, grief or loss, abuse or violence, a traumatic event or incident, an addiction or compulsive behaviour?  A psychologist can help with these issues and many more.   Go to the website above to find a psychologist in your area.  Please note that you will need a doctor's referral for coverage of a psychologist fees by your extended health care.  Check with your extended health care plan for what coverage will be provided.

CF Mental Health and Social Work Services

The Mental Health Clinic is an intergrated team of civilian and military professionals, which include Social Workers, Chaplains, Education Coordinators, Addiction Counsellors, Mental Health Nurse, Psychologist and Psychiatrist.  If you are facing some difficulties, they are there to help you get a better understanding of your concerns and to develop with you the skills/strategies for overcoming and dealing with the situation.  At the Mental Health Clinic, staff do a quick intake assessment to determine your needs.  This initial consultation attempts to answer all the individuals questions related to their services, including issues such as confidentiality and appointment booking.
