The Member Assistance Program is a voluntary and confidential service, initiated by the Canadian Forces (CF) to help members (Regular Force, all Reserve Class Members, Cadets) and family members who have personal concerns that affect their personal well-being and/or work performance.

The MFRC Family /Adult Counsellor offers crisis intervention and short term emotional support for individuals, couples and families. Office and home visits are available.
The purpose of this program is to assist clients in dealing with issues and situations they find personally challenging.
Counselling gives people a chance to be heard without judgment by someone outside of their situation. Clients can also acquire knowledge and learn new skills with which they can find their own solutions to their situation. Assistance can be provided for a variety of issues such as deployment, relationships, parenting, youth and teen difficulties, stress, grief, loss, anxiety and self esteem.
Referrals are available for agencies and services in Brandon and/or for Base services such as medical, financial, Base Social Worker, Padre, school counsellor and food bank. Referrals can also be given for other Shilo MFRC services or for any MFRC in Canada.
Appointments can be booked Tuesday through Thursday, during the day. Evening appointments are available by request.
The service is confidential and free.

Topics covered include deployment related issues, parenting, stress, self care and relationships. The groups and workshops are offered at various times throughout the year. Please check our event calendar for dates and times.

ADAM is a non-profit charitable organization that supports people who are living with anxiety disorders and their families throughout the province through a variety of support programs and services. The program provides a toolkit of supportive resources and assistance in managing and reducing anxiety and coping with stressors through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
