The National Capital Region MFRC offer a wide range of services designed to support our families during a variety of situations requiring immediate intervention, and we stress the importance of prevention in all our activities.
- Short-term counselling service / crisis situation (when it is impossible to recommend you immediately to professional counselling services in the community, we offer counseling for a maximum of 6 sessions)
- Individual meetings / Support groups
- Establishment and maintenance of partnerships using civilian resources
- References to outside resources: telephone service, shelter, emergency funding, self-help groups and others
- Information seminars on the needs of military families in a variety of community settings
- Activities to boost awareness in the schools of the stress suffered by children in military families during postings, deployments and other situations
- Resource Library and information available to users

Anxiety Disorders Association of Ontario (ADAO)
ADAO is a non-profit organization that support and teaches coping skills through a 14 week anxiety management workshop in Ottawa. The program provides those in need a toolkit of supportive resources and help in managing and reducing anxiety and dealing with stressors.

FSFO is a community agency that provides assistance to those who are distressed or at risk. The agency enlists professionals that assist with counseling, education and advocacy within a context of systemic change. They provide tools to help strengthen self-worth and the need to move forward.

Drop-in counseling centre for any adult (alone or with children) who finds it difficult to access services elsewhere due to illness, disability or homelessness. Practical assistance offered in areas such as: shower and laundry facilities, telephones, clothing items, hygiene items, condoms, needle exchange, Social recreation program, Counselling services: short-term supportive counselling, advocacy crisis intervention, housing, employment support and resume writing, addiction and life skills groups and much more. On site visits by: City of Ottawa Public Health Nurses, Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health, Housing Help, ROH Outreach Teams (psychiatric and addiction).
Family Information Line
A bilingual telephone service for families of Canadian military personnel serving in operations outside Canada. The toll-free, 24 hr service features detailed reports about Canadian Forces Family Info Lines and operations from around the world and provides the kind of assurance and support family members depend on. Callers can speak directly to members of the personnel for additional information, support and referral to other resources. Coalition of Community Health and Resource Centres of Ottawa
Ottawa website to direct people to their closest community health centre. These centres have access to a range of services that promote equal access, health, and well being for all members of the community. Counselling, support groups, and specialized programs are offered.

Offers information and support for military members, their families, and veterans with an operational stress injury. The treatment team consists of both military and civilian care providers including: Social Workers, Mental Health Nurse, Addictions Counsellor, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, and Chaplains. Military members are offered a Peer Support Network and families have the option of the Family Support Network.
