There are two options when choosing housing in Borden; RHU's on the base or housing in the surrounding community. Base Borden has Residential Housing Units (RHU) which include row houses, semi-detached (duplexes) and single houses.  There are a variety of housing options available in the surrounding community of Borden such as Alliston and Barrie.  Housing options outside of Borden include detached, single housing most prevalent, but row-housing, apartments, condominiums and duplexes also available. Off Base housing options in Borden are rentals and purchases.

The rental vacancy rate for housing in Barrie is 1.3 % (as of December 2015).

CFHA is the managing authority for the Department of National Defence (DND) housing portfolio. The Housing Services Centre (HSC) is responsible for housing (RHU) in Borden. There are 744 RHUs located on the Base, closer to the north end and Angus community. Please note that RHUs are not furnished and appliances are not provided.
