New Autism Intervention Services Developed for CHEO

The Autism program at CHEO in conjunction with the Ottawa Children’s Treatment Center (OCTC) is excited to announce that the Ministry of Children and Youth Services of Eastern Ontario has funded new services for children and youth up to their 18 birthday using Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) based services and supports. Eligibility is based on a referral by a professional qualified to make a diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum or Pervasive Development Disorder before being able to access these services.

These specialized services are directed to children and youth who have been diagnosed within the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and may need additional assistance to develop their skills in one or more areas to improve their quality of life. The key to growing success: parents and/ or caregivers to learn techniques and strategies so they can be applied to everyday activities. This well needed service is expected to begin in the late Fall of 2011.  For more information please download the attachments below.
