Administered by the local C/MFRC, the ERCS provides the spouse/caretaker of a CF member with emergency respite childcare when the CF member is away on duty. This service provides timely, affordable and regulated childcare when it has been determined that a period of respite is absolutely essential for he family’s continued health and well-being, (i.e. critical to the mental health of the child or caregiver). When other circumstances are not covered in the above and respite childcare is deemed necessary, C/MFRC can request authorization.

The At Home Program provides respite care for eligible children either in their home or at another location. Families may choose the type of respite services that best suit their needs. The program does not cover respite services provided by any person who is a dependent of the family and lives in the same household, or who is a parent of the child.
