The Child Care Licensing Regulation sets out health and safety requirements, licence application requirements, staffing qualifications, and program standards for licensed childcare settings. Additionally, schedules include a list of approved Early Childhood Education programs and first aid requirements. Licensed childcare provides care for three or more children (unrelated to the facility operator).
Licensed childcare can be a childcare centre or a family daycare provider who is licensed and continually meets the minimum standards established by provincial legislation regulating the operation of a childcare program.
The average cost is between: $30 to $50 per day/child.

The MFRC Emergency Services Program offers support and resources to members and their families during emergencies related to childcare, deployment, pregnancy, and any other urgent family situation. Once you call us for assistance, an assessment is made of your needs and resources so an action plan can be developed. This plan may involve services and resources offered through the MFRC and/or referrals to community agencies. The Emergency Services Program maintains a list of qualified Care providers who can provide childcare during an emergency. MFRC cannot guarantee that they will be able to find an emergency caregiver on short notice.
