The Child Care Licensing Regulation sets out health and safety requirements, licence application requirements, staffing qualifications, and program standards for licensed childcare settings. Additionally, schedules include a list of approved Early Childhood Education programs and first aid requirements. Licensed childcare provides care for three or more children (unrelated to the facility operator).
Licensed childcare can be a childcare centre or a family daycare provider who is licensed and continually meets the minimum standards established by provincial legislation regulating the operation of a childcare program.
The average cost is between: $30 to $50 per day/child; $600 to $900 per month/child.
